The men’s and women’s cross country team ran in the Southern Vermont College Invitational on Saturday. The men had another strong showing as they took fourth out of 13 teams. The women competed as a full team for the first time this season and took sixth place out of 10 teams.
The men were once again led by Eric Young (Shaker/Latham), who came in second place overall out of 103 runners with a time of 30:31 on the five-mile course. Also placing well were Devon Sedgwick (Shaker/Latham) and David Degon (Ballston Spa/Aiken, SC), who came in 11th and 17th, respectively.
Amanda Slyer (Averill Park/Troy) came in 14th out of 63 runners with a time of 24:04 on the 5K course for the women. Nicole Dootz (Bethlehem/Feura Bush) came in just behind Slyer in 16th place.
The men and women next run in the Delhi 5K Classic on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
